attempting an information detox. cleaning up my information feed into a more pull based vs push based approach.
detoxing from:
- phones ( using a dumbphone )
- doomprompting outsourcing your cognition
- addiction to unconsciousness
why: fixing my executive dysfunction + a lot of social media does something to you which im not smart enough to explain but i hope to one day + LLMs how: dumb phone + consumption phone
failed attempts: opal, brick, brainrot, one-sec etc etc
felt super super overwhelmed after a heavy doomscroll session that i was like i HAVE to change something asap
so i just reset an old phone i had, put just the essentials and shut down the phone i was using then and put it inside a drawer i dont touch
benefits:
todolater i cant be arsed writing about shit which is working so i will come back to this some day else
it’s not just social media, but information in general.
stare into the abyss ans it will speak back to you 👍

im currently in level 2 ( oct ‘25 ) but will soon start dipping my feet into the cesspool again but with a hazmat suit this time just to extract insights

i did this cesspool with hazmat thing
it’s incredibly hard — terrible week and half. next time maybe ill use a stricter screen blocker like opal while doing that.
but complete cold turkey for another 2 weeks though
